Benefits for treating a sleep disorder
Do you have a hard time falling asleep or stay awake through the night? Everybody can experience an occasional problem sleeping, a good night’s sleep is obviously a basic need and helps you feel refreshed and energetic during the day. Lacking enough sleep makes you feel foggy, unable to concentrate and not feel your normal self. Sleep disorders end up interfering with your family, work and all relationships.
To determine if your sleepless night is an isolated incident or is a chronic sleep problem or disorder start by identifying the symptoms. If you experience any of the following list of problems regularly, you may be experiencing a sleep disorder.

- feel irritable or sleepy during the day?
- find it difficult to stay awake while sitting still, watching TV or reading?
- fall asleep and/or feel very tired while driving your car?

- need caffeinated or stimulant beverages to keep yourself awake and running?
As a general rule, the more relaxed you are before going to bed, the better your sleep will be. You should engage in calm activities before going to bed, you can use different techniques to enter a more relaxed state of mind. Regular practice of these techniques will help you overcome your stress and relax.
Some of these techniques include:
“Counting sheep”
The idea is to “relax” the brain by undertaking a dull and boring task, such as counting backwards.
Abdominal breathing
Most people do not breathe as deeply as would be recommendable, by inhaling deeply and fully, with the belly, lower back and ribcage, not only the chest, it can aid our parasympathetic nervous system, which in turn controls relaxation.
